You can now use Organ to make newsletters

If you previously signed up for updates on the front page of Organ, you might be seeing this post as an email: you're now a subscriber to the page 'Radical Directory Collective' on Organ and you'll receive updates whenever there is a new post on there. Actually - you can sign up to get email updates for any page on Organ! umm is Organ the new Substack/Mailchimp/Action Network?? This is a feature I've been working on for a couple weeks, in between pickets, parenting and uni work and it's finally ready to go. A few weeks, because I designed a simple cryptographic system to preserve the privacy of people's email addresses. I prioritised this feature because I think nobody will feel motivated to use a platform that doesn't reach anyone, so in terms of making Organ actually useful as a comms tool, making it easy to connect to existing channels like email just makes sense. You might be interested in setting up a mailing list yourself? If you have an account, you can create a page on Organ in a few seconds, and anyone who visits your page can easily sign up to receive email updates even without an account - though managing your notifications will be a bit easier with an account. (Note that, while anyone with the link will be able to access your page, it won't be listed on the front page of Organ or otherwise publicised unless you request that.) It may not have any advanced features yet, but even in it's current state I think it's an easy and useful tool for small groups who want to keep in touch with their supporters.
